Are your ceramics food-safe, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe?
Yes! All of my glazes are food-safe, and each pot is safe to go in the microwave and the dishwasher. However, it is recommended that you handwash, when possible, to help prolong the life of each handmade piece.
Do you teach classes?
Not yet, but I am hoping to soon! Plans are in the works for expanding the studio space and getting set up to teach classes in person.
Do you have a storefront where I can see your work in person?
I do not currently sell my ceramics out of my studio since it is in my home. However, I may showcase some work in local art galleries soon! Keep an eye out on my social media for updates.
Do you sell your work at any craft fairs or markets?
I do! I attend various markets/fairs across Northern NY throughout the year. Check my social media for those updates!
Do you make everything yourself?
Yes! I am the sole owner and potter of Opal Ceramics.
If I live locally, do I still have to pay for shipping?
Nope! When you make a purchase on my site, you can choose the “local pickup” option at checkout, which is free. You will then receive an email from me on where and when to pick up your purchase.
How long does it take to make each piece?
This is a difficult question to answer. The short answer is around 2-3 weeks for an individual piece. But the real answer is more complicated. A typical batch of pots can take me anywhere from a few weeks to a few months from start to finish depending on numerous factors.
Do you do custom orders?
I do occasionally, depending on the time of year and my current work load. If you are interested in custom work, you may send an inquiry via email or DM on social media. Do note that custom work can take a few weeks to a few months depending on the size of the order and the current studio workload. Remember that it’s just me doing the work! Currently, custom orders are closed until further notice.
What is your return policy?
I don’t accept returns. However, if your order arrives broken please send me photos via email and I will work with you to replace your order!
